You can invite guests by copying the Guest Page url on the rooms page
Once clicked, guests will be greeted with a simple setup screen, where they can enter their Name, select their Video Source, Audio Device, and apply any Video Filters. This will automatically select their default devices at first but can be changed accordingly. They will also see a preview of their camera and see their audio levels displayed below to check if their mic is working.
Then simply click Connect to Session.
From here, they will then be put into a room with any other guests also joining, they will see themselves in the bottom left and everyone else in the main feed.
If you are sending a comfort monitor feed in, they will instead see that, and other participants on the side. (note that in room settings you can choose to have comfort monitor automatically spotlighted by turning on 'Use Presentation View for Comfort Monitor')
Guests have a few options to control what they are seeing on this screen.
- The speaker icon controls the audio of the participant, and acts as a local mute of that feed to the user
- The camera icon controls the camera feed of another user, this can be toggled as needed
- This icon allows you to go fullscreen on a guests feed
- The pin icon ensures you'll always see the participant, it will take the to the first position after yourself in the grid
Guests have a few settings available to them via the Settings cog in the bottom tool bar, they can access the same setup screen they did before joining, and they can toggle some preferences.
- Disable speaking while muted notification - This controls whether or not the user wants to be notified that they are talking when on mute, this will appear by default as a popup unless disabled here:
- Pin own camera when snapped to grid - This option controls if the user wants their own feed to be pinned when added to the grid
- Pin active speaker - This will pin and prioritise active speakers, depending on window size, will either take just the active speaker or will push them to the front of the grid
- Override automatic performance options - This allows you to access the extra settings below, not typically advised
- Max other guests displayed at once - This simply changes the amount of max presenters in the grid
- Preferred resolution for other guests - Allows the user to choose resolution of other presenters, useful if connection isn't great
- Preferred frame rate for other guests - Allows the user to adjust frame rates for other presenters
