7e: The Mixer Page - Communicating with participants

On the right-hand side of the mixer page you will find a number of different tools for communicating with other participants.

Guest Text Chat

This is a text chat box that everyone in the room can see. This includes other guests and other producers. When there are unread messages, a notification icon will appear on the tab on the Mixer page:

And on the Guest page:

Click on the tab to expand the window and join the chat using the message entry box at the bottom.

Producer Text Chat

A text chat box that only other Producers can see. "Other Producers" means anyone who is logged into the room and viewing it through a Mixer Page.

Anyone who has joined the room via a Guest Page will not see this chat box.

When there are any unread messages an icon will appear on the tab:

Video Join

Producers can use their local webcam and microphone (or any video/audio inputs available on their mixing machine) to communicate with guests through a video window. Sound from this feed will not be broadcast on the Live Feed page, and the video will not appear in your input lists. 

This is not the same function as the Comfort Monitor, which is covered elsewhere in this guide.

When a producer joins with video, a box will appear on all guest screens as follows:

By opening the Live Streams tab, they will see the producer video window. 

Guests will always be able to hear the producer, whether they have the tab expanded or collapsed.
