Security
From here you can manage all the aspects security for each room. Your different rooms can have different security settings.
Security Settings
1. Require room password for entry to all guests? - Set whether your room requires a password to enter by ticking the checkbox.
2. Password - When you create a room, a new 8-digit password is automatically generated for it. You can set your own password by clicking in the box and replacing it. You can always check the current password by clicking on the eye icon.
(nb: There are no in-built requirements for a custom password. You can set it to whatever you want).
3. Require email verification for all guests? - Guests can only enter the room once they've verified their email.
4. Remember guest's browser for 7 days? - This will make regular entry into a room a little easier. The guest will need to allow browser cookies for this to work. Yum.
5. Allow only pre-defined guests to enter room? - This will prevent anyone entering the room unless they enter the same credentials you have set in your pre-defined guest list.
- A more in-depth look at managing guests is available elsewhere in this guide.
6. Guest data visibility for pre-defined guests - Select how much access you wish to allow guests to their guest-list credentials. (eg: you may wish them to be able to see and/or update their name or job description.)

Pre-defined Guests
Before the event you can set up a pre-defined guestlist. The pre-defined guestlist has a number of helpful functions.
It can add security to your room if you enable Allow only pre-defined guest to enter room (see above).
The guestlist can be used to enter data such as Display Names or Job Titles before a broadcast and save you time on the day. This information will show if you have Enabled custom overlays (see below).
Add a new guest
To add a new guest click on the add guest icon .
Fill in their email address and how you wish their name to appear on screen. Guests will need to use this email address to gain entry to the room.
Click Save User Data and they will be added to the guestlist.
You can also import a guestlist from a .CSV file by clicking the import icon on the top right:
You can choose how .CSV data populates your guestlist, and whether or not it should replace existing data in the drop-down menu:
A template for the .CSV file can be downloaded by clicking on the Export Data Template icon:
Import, export, refresh and add guest can be found here, at the top right of the guestlist.
Remember to click Save Changes on the top right to keep any changes you have made.
Existing Guest Access
If you have updated your security settings for a room, or want to refresh all guest access to it, the Revoke Guest Access button will take any guest data back to before the first time they logged in.
This will kick them out of a room if they are in one, so recommend not to use it during a broadcast unless you absolutely have to.
Branding
There are a number of ways you can customise the look of your room to match your style. Where you choose not to upload your own image, it will remain default black.
To upload your own image, click on the relevant box. A finder/folder window will open where you can search for the image you want. Most regular image file-types are supported (eg: .PNG, .JPG).
Select the image you wish to use and click Open. A preview of that image will appear in the relevant box. (Size limit: 4mb)

Output Background Image - A background for the Live Feed. This will appear if no inputs are being sent live.
Placeholder Image - This will appear if the number of inputs does not entirely fill the screen. It will also appear in the place of any input sent live that has their camera/video turned off (eg: A guest who is joining as an audio participant only).

Custom Fields and Custom Overlays
Custom Fields can be added to the information required from a guest when they join your Room.
Display Name is included by default. You can also add:
Text Box - Freedom. Use this to enable a guest to enter alpha-numerical information.
Drop-down List - You can define a list of possible options.
Checkbox - A simple box they can tick, or not. If you have selected Required in this option, the box must be ticked before the guest can enter.
Text Area - Like a text box, but with a bot more space.
Country Drop-down - Prepopulated with all the countries of the world, but you can decide to have a default country if you wish.
Radio Buttons - A list of options with a single choice.
Where you select Required in the Field Type options, this information will need to be entered before the guest can move forward.
Below is a demonstration of the different field-types, then how they would appear when a guest joins the room:
If you are utilising the pre-defined guest list, and have sent individual links to each guest, the information they enter will populate the Guest List found in the Security settings, and can be downloaded as a .CSV file.
Remember to click Save Changes on the top right to keep any changes you have made.
Using Custom Fields and Custom Overlays in combination can help identify guests on screen, enhance your branding, and bring an extra element of professionalism to how your broadcast looks. A typical use for these is to create name labels to appear on each participant's video feed. In broadcast terminology these are frequently known as 'Lower Thirds' (L3rds).
There are a many options that you may wish to experiment with to fit your broadcast.
Below we will show you how to create a commonly used L3rd that displays a Name and Job Title.
- Firstly, enable Custom Overlays by clicking on the toggle. If they are enabled, you will see some options below, and a large preview image.
A Custom Overlay can have up to two lines of information. By default, Line 1 will contain the guest's display name as entered in the form when they joined the call, or if you have set that information in the Pre-defined Guest List. We will leave this how it is for now.
To add a line that shows a job title, choose Text Box in the custom fields drop-down menu and click on Add Field.
Some boxes will appear for you to define what the field should contain. This will affect the form that guests need to fill out when they join the room. In a text box field type, the guest can write anything they want. You can set a character limit or a default value if required.
- Under Overlay Style, choose Double Line from the dropdown menu.
- Under Overlay Fields you will now see two lines of drop-down options. Change Line 2 to Job Title. The large preview image will now show you how it will appear on screen.
- Use the other options to customise the Overlay to look how you wish.
